Brand identity.
Designed with clarity,
confidence and purpose.

I design branding and visual identities for businesses, consultants, clinics, agencies and independent brands that need to look more professional, consistent and memorable. From logo design and colour palettes to typography, visual systems and practical brand assets - everything is created to work properly across web, print and digital.

Your brand should make your business easier to recognise, trust and remember.

A brand identity is more than a logo. It is the visual language people associate with your business - the colours, typography, spacing, imagery, tone, layout style and small details that make everything feel joined up.

Good branding gives your business a clearer first impression. It helps you look professional, feel consistent and communicate the right level of quality before someone has even read the full page.

That is where I can help. I create branding and identity design that is considered, practical and usable. The aim is not just to make something look attractive - it is to create a brand that feels right for your business and works properly across your website, social media, printed materials, documents and everyday marketing.

What I create.

Logo design Distinctive, professional logo design created around your business, audience, positioning and future use across web and print.
Brand identity systems Colour palettes, typography choices, layout direction, graphic styling and supporting visual elements that help your brand feel consistent.
Brand refreshes Thoughtful updates for existing brands that feel dated, inconsistent or no longer aligned with where the business is heading.
Website-led branding Brand direction designed with your website in mind, so the visual identity naturally extends into page layouts, calls to action, icons, graphics and content sections.
Print and digital assets Business cards, stationery, email signatures, social media graphics, banners, presentation styling and practical branded materials.
Simple brand guidance Clear, useful guidance on how to use your logo, colours, fonts and visual assets consistently without overcomplicating things.

Why work with a freelance branding and identity designer?

You work directly with me, so the process is clear, personal and practical. There are no layers of account management or vague agency language - just direct design thinking, honest feedback and a focus on what your business actually needs.

Because I work across both graphic design and website design, I think beyond the logo. I consider how your brand will behave on a website, in a header, on mobile, in social graphics, on business cards, in email signatures and across future marketing.

This is especially useful for businesses that need a joined-up identity. Sometimes the problem is the logo. Sometimes it is the colour palette. Sometimes it is inconsistent typography, weak layout, unclear visual direction or a website that no longer matches the quality of the business behind it.

Brand identity with proper structure behind it.

A brand can look nice and still be difficult to use. That is why I focus on creating visual identities that are not only attractive, but practical, flexible and easy to apply across different formats.

Clear visual direction A consistent look and feel that helps your business appear more polished and recognisable.
Usable logo files Logo artwork supplied in suitable formats for web, print, light backgrounds, dark backgrounds and everyday use.
Practical colour systems Colour palettes designed to work across websites, buttons, backgrounds, printed materials and digital content.
Website-ready thinking Branding designed to extend naturally into your website layout, content styling and future marketing.

My branding and identity design process.

Every branding project is slightly different, but the process is usually built around understanding, direction, refinement and practical delivery.

Understand the business We look at what you do, who you want to reach, how you want to be perceived and where the brand needs to be used.
Explore the visual direction I develop ideas around logo style, colour, typography, layout feel and supporting visual elements that fit the brief.
Refine the strongest route The chosen direction is developed, adjusted and polished until it feels right and works across different practical uses.
Prepare usable assets You receive the final brand files, supporting assets and guidance needed to use the identity properly across web and print.

Good for businesses that need to look more established.

Branding is often one of the quickest ways to make a business feel more professional. It can help a new company launch with confidence, or help an existing business move away from a dated, inconsistent or DIY visual identity.

This can be especially valuable for consultants, clinics, professional service businesses, local companies, creative businesses and independent brands where trust, credibility and first impressions really matter.

The benefit of a proper identity is that everything becomes easier to design afterwards. Your website, business cards, social posts, email signatures, presentations and printed materials all have a clearer visual direction to follow.

Branding and identity design FAQs.

Can you design just a logo? Yes. I can design a standalone logo, but I will still think about how it works in real use across your website, print, social media and digital marketing.
Can you refresh an existing brand? Yes. I can refresh an existing brand if it feels dated, inconsistent or no longer matches the quality or direction of your business.
Do you provide final logo files? Yes. Final logo files can be supplied in suitable formats for web and print, including SVG, PNG, JPG and PDF where appropriate.
Can you create brand guidelines? Yes. I can create simple, practical brand guidance covering logo use, colours, typography and visual direction. Not every business needs a huge guidelines document, so I keep this appropriate to the project.
Can you design the website afterwards? Yes. Branding and website design often work best together. I can create the identity first, then use it as the foundation for a bespoke WordPress website.
Is branding useful for small businesses? Yes. Strong branding can help a small business look more established, consistent and trustworthy, especially when competing against larger or more established companies.
